EURO 2028
Over recent years, the UEFA Medical Symposium has become closely connected with Europe’s major football tournaments, reflecting the increasing alignment between medical excellence and the demands of the elite game. This connection began with the men’s EURO 2024, when the 2023 Symposium in Frankfurt served as a scientific and strategic leadin to the tournament. The link continued with Women’s EURO 2025, supported by the 2025 Symposium in Lugano, which placed a strong emphasis on women’s football medicine, performance, and longterm player welfare.
Building on these foundations, the UEFA Medical Symposium 2027 continues this tradition by aligning with UEFA EURO 2028, which will be cohosted by the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) and the Irish Football Association (IFA). Hosting the Symposium in Dublin symbolises this shared commitment and highlights how medical teams across Europe increasingly collaborate to support players at the highest level of the game.
By linking the Symposium to both the men’s and women’s EURO competitions, UEFA reinforces the importance of addressing key topics such as injury prevention, emergency care, women’s health, mental wellbeing, workload management, and longterm player health. As EURO 2028 approaches, the Symposium provides an essential platform for Europe’s leading medical and performance experts to exchange knowledge, tackle emerging challenges, and ensure that the health of the game continues to progress.
In the same spirit that EURO 2028 brings nations together through football, the Symposium unites the medical community around a shared purpose: advancing player care and strengthening the future of football medicine across Europe.
